8th Annual Vancouver Diversity Health Fair

Hey Eastvan, it’s time again to educate yourselves about your health and well-being. Check the info!

AMSSA (The Affiliation of Multicultural Societies and Service Agencies of British Columbia) is hosting the 8th Annual Vancouver Diversity Health Fair at the Croatian Cultural Centre. The theme of this year’s event is Cancer Prevention & Early Detection.

The 2012 Diversity Health Fair includes:

- 50+ health and wellness exhibitors
- FREE onsite health screenings (blood sugar, blood pressure, hearing, HIV testing, oral cancer screening, spirometry testing)
- Healthy cooking demonstrations with Jenna Mawjee of The Cookshop School, Vietnamese Chef Thi Bui, Gerry Kasten of Vanouver Coastal Health and Vik and Jas of Ace Curries To Go
- Healthy Kids Activity Zone featuring wheelchair curling and activities with Red Fox Recreation, Gymnastics BC, Softball BC and Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation
- An exciting multicultural entertainment stage, including performances by Vancouver Children’s Choir, Vietnamese Line dancers, Zumba Vancouver, Indian Garba dancers and Estilo Cubano!

Resources and attraction at the Vancouver Diversity Health Fair are presented in a number of languages including Cantonese, French, Korean, Vietnamese, Farsi, Punjabi, Spanish and Mandarin.
