A few weeks ago, we featured the Nike MAG launch which caught the (hip-hop) world by storm. UK rapper, Tinie Tempah, was the very first to cop a pair for an estimated $37,500. Kid Cudi followed suit by winning ebay auctions for 4 pairs. In the end, all proceeds went towards the Michael J. Fox Foundation. What I never knew, though, was that Nike not only designed the original shoe seen in the movie, but they also did the jacket. Have a look below:
As a bonus, have a look at the complete story behind the kicks.

While on tour in Eastern Canada, SonReal had the opportunity to link up with the Halifax emcee, Quake. After a few hours in the Studio, the two let off a banger, called Obnoxious. The track was produced by the Toronto beat battler, Memorex.

Head over to JenesisMagazine.com and read up on e.d.g.e.’s recent offering, “All Flow Everything.”
I reached out to producers I had worked with in the past that I had established connections with, rather than crafting a generic sound that wouldn’t convey the messages I was trying to put forward.
Go get that album already. It’s FREE HERE!
Shot over from Rhek of Sharks And Hammers is a map of our Skytrain system in the likeness of a Super Mario Bros. 3 world by Dave Delisle. Check Dave’s attention to detail with YVR on an actual island and the boat in False Creek. Too bad we couldn’t warp from one end to the other with that warp whistle though.
Like the previously posted track by Hrdwtr, The Kodiak Nightlife‘s album was also produced by Langley’s Jon Anderson in what is sure to appeal to all types of music fans. Check out the joyously rockin’ “Come Back To Me” below and follow the link for the FREE download. Also be sure to listen to the sultry “The Dirt Don’t Keep You Down” and just try to keep it in your pants.
Be sure to keep up to date with everything Kodiak HERE. Also be on the look out for their show at The Cobalt on October 8th, 2011.
[Warning: Brutal Battle Raps]
Proud that my homie Nekkbone is back on the battle circuit. He defly made a mark during his year in Eastvan but he’s been gettin’ even more fierce back in Alberta. Watch this for hilarity and throw racism and sexism out the door cause, like Jigga said, it’s ONLY entertainment.
Due to the positive response to the 10 City Blocks post, here is another trailer from Andrew Fiore. This time it’s an in-depth documentary about schizophrenia and mental illness. Head over to UnderstandingTheBrokenMind.blogspot.com for a look into a silent yet serious issue concerning a surprisingly large population yet often gets overlooked by both the provincial and federal health care system.
