Fresh off an amazing year with Evil Eye and the Trillionaire$, Evil Ebenezer heads into 2011 with a new offering, Widows Creek!

Here’s that jump-off video! Directed by Stuey Kubrick. Niceness.
Blurb:
Evil Ebenezer’s newest EP Widow’s Creek is an eccentric ode to the wonders of childhood, summers that never end and the desolate winter which all young boys must face when they become men. Told from the shivering broken bunker of that old summer cottage where a family had the best of times and young boys caused all they trouble they could to make the best memories of their lives.
Gwan’ over HERE to give the boys your pocket change for some of that refreshingly bumpin’ rizzap.
Presented by Saskatoon based SideRoad Records!

I am no food blogger. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and I wanted to give this place some exposure to our viewers.
I shared this plate of Injera Bread, Rice, Veggie, Chicken & Goat with 1 other person and we had plenty left over.
The atmosphere of this restaurant and the friendly owner made me feel as though I was actually in another country.
Well, it only took a day for me to find an East Van blog I’d overlooked. I’ve seen their branded merch on lamp posts and torsos around my ‘hood, but I didn’t realize this was but a piece of a larger pie. From what I can gather, (the website’s not super clear in this regard), Welcome to Eastvan is a clothing and gear company with an expanded online presence.

“There is something to be said about those who wear T-shirts, not for the design but for the flaming dragons, and sparkles that make them look like a male dancer wearing jeans.
So why not start wearing something that represents who you are? Refrain from over-thinking here…. Wear a T-shirt that says something about you!

So a lot of my friends have been asking me to blog more about food. They all know me as one who appreciates a good dish/bowl and I’ve received nothing but good feedback from my previous posts about pho, taiwanese beef noodle soup and fried chicken. Now, I will go on and say that there will be plenty more food related posts in the future but I feel like I must confess: I’m not really a food blogger. Although I enjoy eating, I’m not very good at documenting it. And when I do, I usually break every rule in the food blogging handbook. Yes, there are strict guidelines set by a very important group of culinary elitists and, frankly, I don’t give a shit’s butt.
Anyways, here’s my visit to Menya Japanese Noodles, 401 W.Broadway, Vancouver.
[Now usually I'll have a picture of the establishments sign or awning here, but, well, whoops.]
I’ve been looking for some crazy spicy noodles since watching this episode of Man V. Food so I had to try Menya’s spiciest bowl, the Tan-Tan-Men.
Look, 3 chili peppers! I got the combo set which included some homemade gyozas and a rice cake for a few dollars more.
It appeared to be pretty spicy but I was disappointed. I had to add a lot more chili powder to get anywhere near the level of mouth-blazing. It was also saucier rather than brothy too. Still, it was rich and flavorful and actually quite filling.
Gulp.
Here’s the great thing about this spot tho. You know how when you are on the tail end of your noodle soup and the broth becomes too filling yet you still wanna grab all those delicious bits of meat, veggies and spices? No? Well if you did, then Menya’s got you covered with this kick-ass spoon:
Well, I’ll say 7 outta 10 for this spot. 7.5 for the spoon. I’m done. This new website is confusing me.
Mugs have arrived!
We sold out during the holiday season. If you didn’t get one, come by Sharks+Hammers – 54 Alexander in Gastown.
